This event is the second in a series
of continuing education days for certified
casting instructors. The setting is casual and informal, with plenty of
opportunity for questions, comments and sharing of teaching methods.
Last year's program, "Eyes, Lies, and
Videotape", considered the components of casting diagnostics.
Our special guest was Bruce Richards of Scientific Anglers - it was a
terrific event, sold out in advance, with about 24 CI's in attendance.
This year's program addresses the
next step. Unlike medicine for which the real skill is diagnostic, for
casting the real skill is finding a remedy that will work for the particular
caster. If we know what the problem is, how do we get the caster to fix it?
Merely pointing out the problem almost never works. To learn what to do, we
will look at real cases, not convenient ones that conform to ideal models of
casting mechanics.
Our special guest this year will be
Steve Rajeff, arguably the caster who has best addressed what works with his
34 consecutive wins of the annual American Casting Association (ACA)
championship, plus 13 victories at the bi-annual World Casting Championship.
The cost of participation is only $35
with advance registration, $50 at the door. Comparable
programs offered recently in other areas have charged many times this
amount. Register now - class size is limited and this will fill up.
