REX GUDGEL 

REX GUDGEL is an FFF Master Certified Casting Instructor. Rex came to us from California with a stop over in Florida to build Hells Bay Flats Boats with Hal Chittum and Flip Pallot. With fifty years of fly fishing under his wading belt and over twenty five years of guiding and teaching, he brings a vast knowledge of casting and fishing techniques to the table! Starting his casting "recovery" at the Long beach casting club with Michael Maloney led him to realize he could catch fish ,but did not really cast all that well (sound familiar ?). The process began to remove all the bad habits acquired through the years and to gain an understanding of why and how waving a long bendable stick in the air, flinging a plastic string actually works!  With friends and mentors like Lefty Kreh, Flip Pallot and David Diaz the process was fun and very rewarding. Lefty says that "Rex can cast a fly line through a screen door and he can help any body (beginner or advanced) become a better caster with his teaching skills!".
