For CCIs and MCCIs ONLY another Continuing Education Seminar "INSTRUCTORS ONLY" DAY
PROGRAM PARTICULARS COMING SOON

2012 FFF SouthEastern Flyfishing Festiva
UNICOI STATE PARK LODGE, “Logos A” Room - Helen, Georgia
This event is the fifth in a series of continuing education days for certified casting instructors.
The first Continuing Education program presented will be a Direct Instruction Workshop, The Anatomy of Loop Dynamics: Teaching Loop Control (By David Diaz, MCI/BOG) - With a theory of loop dynamics, instructors can teach students how to control loop formation, an essential instructor’s skill.
Students frequently can cast and fish, do both well, but remain naïve about casting theory. Some will stay uninformed forever. Under- standing loop dynamics is necessary for fault diagnosis and remedy. Teaching students how to control the formation of the loop is essential skill for instructors. For that skill an understanding of loop dynamics, what conditions of line, rod, and hand movement result in the loop is a required for certified instructors. Without a useable theory of loop dynamics, the casting instructor is compromised.
The second program will be Eric Cook’s Beyond the Checkbox seminar - Testing is as much an obligation for casting instructors as teaching. The path to becoming a good examiner extends beyond evaluating casting skills. The MCI test is less structured than the CI test. It has social constraints.Examiners have to be adaptable not just willing to follow a script in response to candidate responses.
A third program, Secrets of the Invisible Pulley by Mac Brown - Archimedes understood fly casting. Refining one’s understanding of casting to realize that we direct fly lines with energy is a momentous step toward capturing the actual big picture. Rods and hands are our mechanisms.
This CE workshop is an exploration of the other aspects of MCI examination that are required to thoroughly test candidates.
Open to all FFF Certified Instructors. Valuable to current and aspiring Masters.
The cost of participation is only $35 with advance registration, $45 at the door. Comparable programs offered recently in other areas have charged many times this amount. Register now - class size is limited and this will fill up.
You MUST REGISTER for this program by including it as a selection on your ONLINE REGISTRATION or the 2012 FFF SouthEastern Flyfishing Festival Registration FORM
