More Trout Fishing

The north Georgia trout streams are within hours away. Alabama is only an hour or so drive, and has some of the country's great rivers. Odds are pretty good that you'll be passing near some excellent fishing on your way to or from the conclave - why not allow an extra day or two for fishing. Check the list of guides and fly shops at the left and on our exhibitors page - support the people who support us.

More Fishing

Flat-Water (Lakes and Impoundments)

For flatwater anglers there are plenty of fishing opportunities in NE Georgia from 100 acre impoundments to 60,000 acre reservoirs.  Best best include:

Stripers and Spotted Bass on Lake Lanier (www.henrycowenflyfishing.com
Largemouth Bass and Bream in Smith Lake at Unicoi State Park
Spotted Bass and big Brown Trout at Lake Burton (www.georgialaketrout.com
Big Walleye (& unforgetable scenery) in Tugalo Lake
Bream underneath overhanging tree limbs in Lakes Rabun and Seed
Schools of hybrids and trophy stripers on Lake Hartwell (www.buckernstfishing.com)

Details on these fisheries are found at http://www.gofishgeorgia.com/node/242?cat+fishing .  Click on the lake of your choice and plan your trip.  For more details on fishing in Georgia, as well as making a license purchase ahead of time online, you can go straight to http://www.gogishgeorgia.com and navigate around the site for a variety of information on fishing here.

One final note; the SEC Show and Conclave happens to be going on during
National Fishing & Boating Week.  Residents of Georgia may fish on Saturday, June 5th without having to purchase a fishing license or a trout license.

The waters listed here are only a small sampling of the opportunties you will have available during your visit to the SEC FFF Fly Fishing Show & Conclave.  We hope you will join us and look forward to introducing our guests to this great region.
